Should you be wary of law firms/lawyers who send you mail immediaely after you receive a traffic ticket,etc?

I’ve heard that these are called bottom feeders, or are just sharks, and are desperate for business or just…the types of law firms/lawyers you should try your best to stay as far away from as possible. Is this true..or just speculation? Or is this just standard business practise?
